Geo Storm Engines

The following are replacement engines for the Geo Storm. While a Geo Storm engine will run for upwards of 200,000 miles, sometimes they die early and you have to replace the whole Geo Storm engine!

The Geo Storm Engine: Lots of Options

The Geo Storm was designed to be a sporty car.  To go with that, it  had several different engine options that gave this little two door some spunk!

The base model Geo Storm had a SOHC I4 engine that had 95 horsepower.  Translating that, it was a single overhead camshaft (SOHC); I4, or inline-four engine, where all four cylinders are set in a straight line.  The I4 setup was pretty standard for all Geos, since it was mechanically pretty simple.

The more powerful GSi (1990 to 1991) had a 1.6L DOHC (double overhead camshaft) engine that put out 130 horsepower.

The 1992 and 1993 base models had the same engine as the earlier Geo Storm base models.

The 1992 and 1993 Geo Storm GSi versions had a larger 1.8L engine with 140 horsepower.

If you need to replace the whole engine, an engine for the Geo Storm isn’t to expensive. The trick is finding one, and finding the right one for your model of Storm.  So be careful to make sure you find the right engine for your Geo Storm model.
